Refurbished Bailgate Shop Handed Over to Elite Fish & Chip Company

Taylor Lindsey has handed over the keys to the former Lloyds Bank building on Lincoln’s historic Bailgate to The Elite Fish & Chip Company who, after a comprehensive renovation program, will now be fitting the property out as a new fish and chip restaurant and takeaway.

‘The Elite on The Bail’ will be offering traditional fish and chips in both the 80-cover restaurant and the takeaway, which will be accessible from a separate entrance on St Paul’s Lane.  The restaurant will also serve a varied seafood menu on certain days of the week.

Adrian Tweedale, Co-Director at The Elite Fish & Chip Company, said: “It has taken a lot of work, but we are delighted that The Elite on The Bail is moving forward.  So far, the renovations are looking beautiful and we can’t wait to take the next step as a company.”

In 2018, the Elite Fish & Chip Company celebrated 30 years in business in Lincolnshire and during its 30-year history the company has expanded to three restaurants and takeaways in Ruskington, Sleaford and Lincoln.

The new restaurant will create 40 new jobs in the area for 16 full-time staff members and 24 part-time staff members. The Elite will soon be recruiting for three new friers to be trained at its Lincoln restaurant and takeaway on Tritton Road before moving to the Bailgate when it opens later this year.
